Causey Development Trust report October 2018

Causey Update:
Design Update:
The revised design proposal - developed in response to issues raised by local stakeholders and individuals to the first proposal - was presented to the South East Locality Committee on Monday 24 September with a recommendation from Paul Lawrence - CEC Director of Place - that the committee approved the proposal on the basis that outstanding objections relating to material matters such as loading - progress to a Scottish Ministers hearing process for consideration (and all not material objections be dismissed). Note - this is a standard procedure for the determination of TROI and RSO procedures. We don’t have timescales for this process but will provide info on this in due course. Many thanks to SCC for their support.

Meeting papers and a podcast of the meeting can be read at this link: http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/meetings/meeting/4538/south_east_locality_committee

Doors Open Day event - CDT also held a successful Doors Open Day event on Sat 20 Sept in collaboration with both the Orthodox Community of St Andrew and Buccleuch and Greyfriars Free Church. West Crosscauseway was closed off with a Temporary Traffic Order and the space enlivened with live folk music and colourful seating. This was the first time the Causey had been closed off since 2007 and the aim was to help new and existing residents to re-imagine the space and for CDT to meet local people from the immediate and wider area.
